Are you a student who loves to program? Apply to one of our Code Next Labs! We currently have four labs, located in 1) Oakland, California, 2) Chelsea, New York, 3) Detroit, Michigan, and 4) Inglewood, California. Students who live in or near any of these cities are eligible to apply for our in-person lab experience.
The Oakland and Chelsea labs are run and managed by Google. The Detroit lab is run by Google and based at the Michigan Central train station in partnership with Ford. The Inglewood lab is run by Google at Hollywood Park, the home of SoFi Stadium.
In our state-of-the-art Code Next labs, participants engage in a rigorous CS curriculum, receive personalized coaching, and create hands-on projects – such as designing and programming robots or 3D printing chess sets. Through months of immersive learning, students transform into technology creators, empowered to share their innovations with the community. Additionally, they gain access to Google mentors, industry experts, and cutting-edge tools like virtual and augmented reality.
- Early July - applications open
- Mid-August - applications close
- Late August - applicants take part in design challenge interviews
- Early September - acceptances are sent out
- Late September - accepted students begin the program
- October to June - students engage in programming
